Pump Boys And Dinettes
Several Lyceum favorites are returning to bring this toe tappin’ musical to life on the Lyceum stage. CoCo Sansoni will be playing the role of Rhetta Cupp. She first appeared on the Lyceum stage 20 years ago. Her many performances have included Rose in Gypsy, Patsy in Always…Patsy Cline, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Jane in Big River as well as parts in Steel Magnolias, Cotton Patch Gospel, Lend Me A Tenor, Smoke on the Mountain: Homecoming and, most recently as Sister Robert Anne in last season’s Nunsense.
Joining CoCo as Prudie Cupp will be Lyceum favorite Jennifer D. Gray. Jennifer first appeared on the Lyceum stage as an orphan in Annie and Young Bess Truman in The Buck Stops Here. Jennifer’s many performances on the Lyceum stage include The Music Man, Godspell, Dames at Sea, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Lend Me A Tenor, Cottom Patch Gospel, Annie Warbucks, Crimes of the Heart, To Kill A Mockingbird, Smoke on the Mountain, and several productions of Always…Patsy Cline.
Directing and performing will be another familiar face to the Lyceum stage, David Hemsley Caldwell. David returns to the Lyceum having previously directed Nunsense, Annie, Big! The Musical, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Bye, Bye Birdie and acting and directing Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming and appearing as Wilbur in the 2009 hit Hairspray. Most recently David directed Leaving Iowa for the Dixie Theatre in Florida and Driving Miss Daisy in North Carolina. A few of David’s regional credits include: Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Milwaukee Rep., Meadowbrook Theatre, Riverside Theater, Totem Pole Playhouse, Allenberry Playhouse and the Florida Studio Theater. Mr. Caldwell also served as Artistic Director for The Gretna Timbers Theater for 5 years.
New to the Lyceum stage is Kevin Kurth as Jim. Kevin is a singer, actor, musician and songwriter. Mr. Kurth has composed, arranged and co-written several shows. Kevin plays piano, guitar, bass and accordion and sings every style from Operatic arias to country music. Having understudied with the original Broadway cast of Pump Boys, Kevin went on to do the national tour and appear in and direct many other productions of this show.
Another new face to the Lyceum stage will be Tom LoSchiavo in the role of Jackson. Last year Tom released his first solo album titled Standing In Line. Along with writing and performing music Tom has also starred in the Off-Broadway Elvis Musical called Hunka Hunka Burnin’ Love. His TV credits include As The World Turns.
Rounding out the cast will be Joe Belcher as the silent, bass player, Eddie.
The Pump Boys And Dinettes production team is made up of David Hemsley Caldwell, director; Kevin Kurth, musical director; Randy B. Winder, scenic designer; Jared Clarkin, lighting designer; Candace Zak, costume designer; Matthew Wilson, sound designer.
The production stage manager is Emilee Buchheit.
