The Lyceum Theatre Announces Auditions
The Lyceum Theatre's yearly talent search officially begins in February. This year auditions will be held at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre February 25, 11:00am to 5:00pm. Appointments for these auditions can be made by contacting Leslie Bertani 660-837-3311 ext. 104.
Each auditionee must prepare 16 bars of 2 contrasting songs and one brief monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Children under the age of ten may audition with 16 bars of one song. If not a singer, one monologue will be sufficient.
The Lyceum is seeking Equity and non-Equity actors of all ages and ethnicities. Specifically this season the Lyceum is seeking confident young local actors to play the River City Kids Ensemble, Winthrop, Gracie Shinn and Amaryllis in The Music Man. Tom of Warwick in Camelot (12-15 years old) and exceptional young actors to play Scout, Jem and Dill in To Kill A Mockingbird.
Along with the local auditions, the Lyceum will participate in the MidWest Theatre Auditions in St. Louis February 17-19. Information on these auditions can be found at www.webster.edu/depts/finearts/theatre/mwta.
Finally, the Lyceum Theatre announces New York auditions to be held by appointment only in March. For an appointment, send headshot and resume by February 14th to the Audition Department, P.O. Box 14, Arrow Rock, MO 65320. You will be contacted by phone for audition time.
The Lyceum's 52nd season rehearsals begin May 22nd, with performances running through November 18th. The 2012 Season includes Sister Amnesia's Country Western Jamboree (May 31-June 9), The Music Man (June 16-27), Camelot (July 5-15), Boeing Boeing (July 21-28), Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest (August 4-11), Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (August 22-31), To Kill A Mockingbird (September 8-15) and Sanders Family Christmas More Smoke On The Mountain (November 10-18).
